We all know that green tea is healthy. It contains loads of antioxodants, its used for detoxing the body, supports the growth of new cells (or something) and its said to be a good aid for fat loss. Personally I prefer black tea, and haven’t really been able to understand this tea hysteria. Until now. Do you guys know about Matcha green tea? Its a powder tea made from a special Japanese green tea leaves. Its partly grown in dimmed light so that the plant will produce more chlorophyll, so that the tea will get its characteristic bright green colour. Basically, the leave is picked, the stem removed, its dried and then ground into a very fine powder. With this powder you can make loads of drinks, ice cream, shakes, smoothies, juicedrinks etc. Because you consume the whole leave when you drink the Matcha mixture the benefits are far far move intense and concentrated. It gives you fibre, increases your body’s ability to burn fat, detoxes, gives you energy (it has about the same amount of caffeine as coffee!) and much more.

I have started to make a shake every morning with soy milk, natural yoghurt, water, sweeteters, ice and a teaspoon of Matcha. It gives me energy the whole day!
(Tip! If you want to try it without buying the powder, go to Starbucks! They have recently started to make a Matcha Frappuccino. Yumm!)
